The film was shot to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Chinese People’s Volunteers’ war to resist the United States and aid Korea. It captured the history of the Battle of Jincheng in the War of Resistance against the United States and Aid Korea. On July 12, 1953, the volunteers had to cross a bridge before 5 a.m. the next day to reach the main battlefield of Jincheng, and the American bombers bombed the bridge many times. The film presents the story from three perspectives: the engineer company repairing the bridge, the US Air Force and the anti-aircraft artillery. The final three lines come together to complete the storming of the bridge.
The film started shooting in August 2020 and set to release on October 25th of the same year. The whole filming and post-production have to finish in three months.
Under the premise of tight time and heavy tasks, the three directors jointly direct, divide labor and cooperate, and finally integrate into a unified style. Especially as a war film, the special effects of the film are huge, and the special effects team has completed almost impossible tasks.
